For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking  for a full-time Purchase and Inventory Lead for our Parts and Accessories Division.

 

About the role: 

Lead and coach a very diverse team of junior and senior purchasing and inventory management professionals, to achieve the company’s allocation and month of stock targets. Develop and determine the Purchase & Inventory strategy for the Accessories, Apparel & Non captive parts product groups, for the short and medium term.  Cooperate in defining and scouting the strongest possible supplier base. Ensure the correct application of Yamaha Motor’s purchasing guidelines.

 

Principle accountabilities:

  • Train, support, direct and motivate the Purchase & Inventory team, to achieve best in class purchasing and inventory management operations;
  • Scout, evaluate, develop, train (improve) and control suppliers, in consultation with the suppliers concerned, according to worldwide Yamaha and Global Logistic Management standards;
  • Ensure the timely collection and analysis of necessary information from suppliers and the Yamaha Motor Europe NV product planning & PSI Control and fit up rate forecasts from P&A sales coordinators;
  • Coordinate, analyse and predict the demand for Yamaha products (during the product life cycle);
  • Instil an engineering to cost mindset in the product development process;
  • Constantly improve the purchasing and inventory management processes of the accessory department;
  • Ensure clear, transparent and frequent reporting to upper management levels;
  • Initiate projects and participate in projects arising out of the Purchase & Inventory Department;

What do you bring?

  • 5+ years  of experience in an international automotive environment.
  • Functional knowledge in the field of inventory control, logistics, supply chain, OEM parts & accessories, ERP database systems.
  • Managerial experience: managing small/medium team (8 staff) handling international supply chain management/purchasing activities.
  • Bachelor and/or Master degree, preferably in supply chain management or business administration.
  • Excellent analytical skills, multi-tasker; able to handle daily routine next to multiple projects (software) and ongoing analysis at the same time.
  • Communication skills : strong communicator, able to convince others: create buy-in and get support. Sensitive to different cultures i.e. diplomat. Capable of working across a multi-cultural environment (Europe, Japan, North & South America) consisting of suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Automotive experience, preferably at international level (manufacturer, OEM-supplier, after market supplier)
  • Fluent in English, other European languages considered a plus (IT, F, ES, D, NL)

 

About Yamaha Motor:
Yamaha Motor Europe is responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of Yamaha Motor products in the European marketplace, mainly: Yamaha motorcycles and scooters, marine outboard engines, Wave runner water vehicles, 4-wheel All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s), golf cars, snowmobiles and generators.

 

What do we offer?

Besides a competitive salary,  Yamaha Motor offers you a 13th month payment, commuting allowance, 28 holidays a year and the opportunity to earn a bonus. You will work in an international environment in which you can learn and develop. Your first contract will be a temporary contract, but with the intension to extend or offer an indefinite contract.
