For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Department Manager Brand Marketing Mobility (Scooters and eBikes) in our Marketing Division.


About the role:

The Brand Marketing Department Manager is the key window for Europe on all Marketing projects for its category of products and it contributes to implementing the Global Brand Strategy externally (customers, media, and dealers) and internally (employees, including Distributors).

With the Marketing Division Manager and the input of the PV (Power Vehicle) Divisions, position and develop the European marketing plan to maximize brand/product awareness in Europe. Grant consistent execution all around Europe of the approved plan, securing central produced event/activity and supporting Distributors in local execution.

You will manage the timely and accurate creation of all communication assets - such as brochures, photos, ads, POS materials, press kits, communication packages, etc - by creating the yearly plans and following these up with the team members.

Your role will also be to manage all the communication production (and eventually media) suppliers to achieve the best ROI. Propose and manage the approved budget to execute European marketing plans for its category of products.

More in specific, the Department Manager Brand Marketing for the Mobility area will take care of all the products and services that support the evolution of Customers’ needs within the wide area of personal (urban) mobility: Scooters, e-scooters, and e-bicycles.


Your responsibilities:


  • Develop and deliver the Brand/Product Strategy and positioning for all products of the category you are responsible for;
  • Propose to the Marketing Division Manager the needed budget to execute the European Marketing plan for the products of your Category Manage the customer lifecycle for all products of the category you are responsible for;
  • Define, plan, and execute the necessary activities in each step of the customer lifecycle always aiming to exceed customer expectations in all touchpoints of the customer lifecycle;
  • Secure the in-time production of all communication materials needed to promote Yamaha Motor products of the category and its related services/activities, with respect to their positioning and the Marketing plan;
  • Manage the overall communication activities linked to the elaboration and distribution of the various sales supporting tools and create impactful introductions of new product models, following the developed policies and guidelines, in order to provide Distributors with relevant sales supporting tools,
  • to support new product launches and to better reach the targetted customers;
  • As a part of the Marketing plan execution, the Press Test and Customer events are key elements for the introduction of any new product. Within this area, the Brand Marketing Department Manager is responsible for defining the plan of the needed activities, which are then executed by the Trade Marketing Department;
  • Define guidelines for national media strategy in cooperation with the Digital Marketing Department, execute when needed pan-European on/off-line media campaign;
  • Grant proper information on all Marketing activities of your category, guidelines, and support tools (by segment/product groups);
  • Supervise proper execution of Customer engagement activities at the Distributor level;
  • Manage and report periodically a structured check of activities results, both from a Customer and Distributor point of view;
  • Manage, coach, and guide your team to ensure all projects are executed in a timely and thorough manner, ensuring all relevant parties have been consulted;
  • Manage workflow, and priorities and steer the team toward achieving a common goal;
  • Motivate and mentor the team to ensure they perform to their highest level, all while making sure that the budget target is respected;
  • Make sure appropriate education and training are given to the team and distributor staff;
  • Agencies and other suppliers should be briefed on Yamaha's working procedures (policies and guidelines, etc).

What do you bring?

  • Expert in mobility products (scooters, electrical vehicles, and/or bicycles);
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree  in Marketing or proven experience developing and executing marketing plans;
  • Minimum 8+ years’ work experience in a similar position, managing a team/ subordinates, preferably in an international environment;
  • Experience with creating a marketing campaign, marketing strategy, and marketing plan;
  • Experience with project management;
  • Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills;
  • Strategic thinker & creative;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving attitude;
  • Open attitude, supportive, and a go-getter;
  • Availability to travel;
  • High interest in Scooters and E-bikes;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken and in writing;


The Department Manager reports directly to the Division Manager of Marketing.
