For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer within our Information Systems(IS) Division.

About the role:

The DevOps Engineer introduces processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle, from coding and deployment, to maintenance and updates as per agreed service levels, allowing users of Yamaha Motor Europe, European distributor organizations and, if applicable, users of third parties to use Yamaha’s business applications and office automation tools. Next to that, the DevOps Engineer acts as a project manager to contribute towards the execution of IT projects on a European level.

Your responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the day-to-day operational activities required to meet the operational service levels as agreed with the user organization also ensuring everybody understands the guidelines for deployment.
  • Ensure continuous service by minimizing the business impact in the event of an IT service interruption. The focus should be on building resilience into automated solutions and educating the developers. It includes determining the critical IT resources within Yamaha and the impact when these resources are not available.
  • Making sure that code is stored correctly and can be used in case of a disaster.
  • Ensure systems security by actively minimizing the impact of security vulnerabilities and incidents, in order to maintain the integrity of information and of the IT infrastructure processing this information.
  • Establishing policies and procedures to ensure systems security such as user account creation and maintenance. It also includes determining possible security vulnerabilities and threats and defining counter measures.
  • Responsible for creating procedures and guidelines for the developers.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate and complete repository of all applications within the repositories. They should be cleaned when no longer in use.
  • Provide the appropriate platforms for the business applications, following the defined IT standards and the overall technology direction. Plan the maintenance of the IT infrastructure and implement internal control, security and auditing measures.
  • If required, IT services are acquired from third parties (hardware, software). Third party performance needs to be monitored to verify whether their services are delivered as agreed (SLA).
  • Communicate in clear and unambiguous terms with (key) users about any relevant issue using any suitable tool for communication (mail, phone, presentations etc.). Admit mistakes in functionality but also point out the user’s responsibilities in a professional non-accusative manner.
  • Clear communication with IS colleagues and external (IT) consultants emphasizing Yamaha’s IS strategy of centralization, standardization, integration and our responsibilities towards users, group companies, YMC(Japan HQ) and other stakeholders.

What do you bring?

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines: Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, AWS, AWS-CloudFormation, AWS-Lambda, AWS-ECS, Jenkins, SonarQube, Gitlab, Gitlab-pipelines, Nexus, JFrog, Docker, IaC, Azure, Azure-DevOps, Terraform, Openshift, EKS, Ansible
  • Programming language: Java, Python, Swift-2.0, Android (Java), PL/SQL, SQL, powershell, JSON, YAML
  • Methods: Agile Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code
